Directory Portal with Intuitive Search

We structure large collections of listings or offerings so visitors can easily find exactly what they need.

How the service works and what is included

We lock in the scope, boundaries, and verifiable deliverables before starting.

When a directory catalog is needed

This format is ideal for business directories, property or item catalogs, and service listings. The visitor’s primary goal is filtering by criteria and reviewing detailed listing cards. Cart-based checkout may not be needed at all.

Clear catalog architecture

You get a website with agreed categories, listing cards, and search tools. Item data is stored in a structured format so it can be easily edited and used in filters. Selecting an item leads directly to the desired inquiry action.

What we design

On WordPress, we select the right tools for your data structure and user actions. Listing fields: we define required attributes, images, descriptions, and contact info. Search and filters: we choose the criteria people actually search by, testing filter combinations and empty-result states. Content population: we agree on who adds listings and how they are reviewed and updated. Importing from external sources is scoped separately.

Additional workflows

User accounts, paid listings, front-end user submissions, and moderation workflows require a separate scope. Automated importing is possible after verifying the source format and availability. Full shopping cart and payment functionality belong to an e-commerce store setup.

Workflow and preparation

Execution stages and what is needed to get started.

From sample listing to full catalog

First, we analyze several typical items and the differences between them. We design the custom fields, taxonomies, and search logic, and approve the listing card design. After building, we test data entry and search on sample items, then populate the agreed volume of listings.

Materials needed to start

Send sample records without personal data, a list of attributes, and the approximate catalog size. Specify who will maintain it, what data sources already exist, and what action visitors should take after selecting a listing. All photos and descriptions must be cleared for publication.

Order scope

The directory portal is available in our service catalog. We will discuss the right configuration, content rules, and extra features, then prepare an estimate. Timelines are set in business days once the data structure is approved. Related services: Corporate Website, Online Store for E-Commerce Sales, Custom WordPress Plugins, System and API Integrations.

Catalog pricing

Frequently asked questions

How does a directory catalog differ from an online store?

A catalog helps visitors find and inspect an item. An online store additionally requires an agreed purchasing flow, shopping cart, and checkout system.

How many filters will there be?

We choose the number of filters based on your item attributes and search goals. First, we verify that your underlying data supports them cleanly.

Can an existing spreadsheet be imported?

After reviewing the fields, data quality, and volume, we agree on the import method. Data cleaning and restructuring are estimated separately.

Will visitors be able to submit listings?

That workflow needs to be included in the project specification along with access, validation, and moderation rules.
